Lewiston River House

In this home overlooking the Niagara River, natural materials were used to offer a warmer feel. Dated stone on the exterior was swapped for wooden panels creating a chic finish while maintaining a rustic and outdoorsy feel. The removal of white paint exposed the original brick of the fireplace. The catwalk overlooking the living room was adjusted to bring natural light from the second floor’s windows into the space. The kitchen was reoriented, and the breakfast nook was expanded by relocating the mudroom. This new floor plan let the natural light from rear windows fill the entirety of the house. Lastly, a previously unutilized guest bedroom was repurposed to create a gracious entryway and cozy library.
